In new orleans bond has been set at 125,000 for a man who police say plowed his pickup truck into a crowd of mardi gras revelers. New Orleans Police say nielsen rasutos blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit when he crashed into a crowd of people watching a parade. Witnesses describe what happened. He was trying to go through the crowd. From what people said it looked like he got frustrated and aggravated, so he stomped gas to try to swerve around people and basically lost control, hit the back of a white car which in turn slammed into a crowd to the right and then lost control and went through the other side of the median plowing into a whole flock of people. It was just chaotic. At first it was like calm and it was like what is going on and then it was just chaos. 28 people were injured. Tonight five are still in the hospital. Fortunately there were no fatalities. Its happened again just days after a Jewish Cemetery in suburban st. Louis was vandalized. As many as 100 graves have been damaged in a Jewish Cemetery outside of philadelphia. Police say a man visiting the cemetery reported that crime around 9 30 this morning. The vandals knocked overhead stones. Police say several were broken. Authorities believe the attack happened sometime after dark saturday. Theyre investigating this incident as a case of vandalism. Trial of lloyd welch will be delayed until september. Welch is accused of the 1975 killings of the lyons sisters. His attorneys had requested the delay. It had been scheduled for april 18th. Welch has been charged with two counts of first degree murder. Police say katherine and sheila lyon disappeared from the Wheaton Plaza shopping mall. They believe the 10 and 12year old girls were sexually assaulted and killed in bedford county, virginia. Tomorrow marks the one Year Anniversary of the return of Streetcar Service to the district of columbia. The project cost more than 200 million and more than a decade of delays. Last february ddot finally launched the service along the h street corridor in northeast washington. The streetcars make eight stops every 10 to 15 minutes free. Savoy Elementary School reopens tomorrow after being closed three weeks due to bedbugs. When youre swimming and raising money thats not for you, for your team, its for someone else. You can see the lowering that was happening here. This is a wall cloud. When you get a rotating storm thats going to produce a tornado, it starts to drop from the top. Thats what appears this was doing. A lot of times youll see green and the hail in the storm. It refracts the light. The tornado looks like it touched down near 301, moved northeast, lifted near st. Peters church road and this was a little tornado. Still you saw the damage on the video. Maximum winds 90 miles an hour, so its an ef1, moved just over 8 miles. Maximum width was a little over a football field wide, so you had to be right under it and this was the eighth tornado in february in maryland since 1950. As far as the 3degree guarantee today, forecast high 51. We hit 50. We were one off. Tomorrow im forecasting a high 57, so we will start a warming trend. Compared to tonight it will feel better. 20s in the mountains and the shenandoah valley, martinsburg, winchester, manassas 28 along with frederick and gaithersburg, lots of low to mid30s.
