We just night get some snow . We havent had a white thanksgiving since 1979. That year we had a white thanksgiving and a white christmas, the first time in a hundred years. You know what happened after that . It was a very disappointing winter. For you. Yes, for me. You know, im kind of in between here. I might have to break out the breadometer later tonight. Oh, no. Im really in between here. Lets start with a live look outside with our weather cam. We have some hours to do some errands. Im sure everybody and their brother is in the grocery store. Temperatures still in the 50s, 55. Winds still out of the south at 5. Humidity 40 . Pretty low. So were looking at a slow changeover to colder air as we go through the rest of the evening and also tonight and tomorrow. So red alert wednesday for snow. Bus stop temperatures 38 to 44. This is important because it will be wet at the bus stop. Well have to have an umbrella walking the kids to the bus stop. Stay off the roads between 10 00 a. M. And 4 00 p. M. I think that will be the critical hours in the immediate metro area, fairfax county, the district. Well see the rain changing to snow. Well see periods of heavy snow, low visibility. I think its going to describe familiaric enough to be dynamic enough to snow faster than it will melt. That will have to happen to get 4 inches in the metro. 4 to in the mountains. You have elevation, colder air, you have more snow. Okay. We just sent this out. Just tweeted this out. Heres our second call. Pretty close to what we had at noon really. Trace to an inch east of i95. I95 west 1 to 2 inks. That includes 2 inches. That includes manassas and fairfax and Silver Spring and wheatton. 2 to 4 inches through Loudoun County, back through upper Montgomery County. Frederick and points north and west, 4 to 8 inches. Hagerstown and smithsburg, westminster, probably in the order of 6 inches for you folks. So heres our futurecast. 6 a. M. In the morning. This is not changed. Its going to be raining in the morning. A dreary morning. But just rain with snow in the mountains. Watch what happens. By 9 00 watch this blue line and this ma general today line magenta line start to sink. It moves at the surface and aloft. Eventually the atmosphere will be able to support snow, even though the surface temperatures are going to be above freezing. Thats what makes the accumulation so tough for us. Its going to have to snow pretty hard faster than it melts tomorrow. I think it will. By noon all snow upper Montgomery County, Loudoun County, points to the north and west and a mixture already on either side of i95. Then by 2 00, pretty much all snow in the north and western suburbs of d. C. And also wet snow flakes flying into charles county. I think even by 5 00, well see wet snow flakes into st. Marys county. You wont see any accumulation down there but you are going to see wet snow flakes before all is said and done tomorrow. So the day planner, rain at 9 00, 38. Rain and snow at 11 00, 37.
