When we are reminded on how important it is to have Good Neighbors. They are on 41st street in northwest dc where scott broom is live tonight after documenting one neighbors own little icy hill. Reporter oh my gosh. Look at this thing right here, okay . That is an alley, basically a block long downhill with that ice rink as it is just one example of how one burst pipe in one home more than a block away could end that hook, leaving Something Like this for the whole neighborhood. It starts with this car coated in filthy ice. Im not sure where it is coming from. Its making a mess. And then we noticed this alley. I mean it is solid ice. Reporter the investigation will require these. Sort of like spiked chains for your shoes as i started to walk up to see what was going on, leading to a block away in the backyard. And water pouring from the door of one homes basement. No one was home. And they had the number for the neighbor next door. Thanks to the first call the homeowner called chris who had a key. Red panel, right . Reporter chris found the shut off valve. Curse you winter. Oh yeah it has changed that way. Reporter after racing home from work also marveled at the ice down the alley that came from his house while he was away. Credits the next door neighbor for raising the alarm. She is great. I love her. Shes a great woman. We have a real neighborhood on this street. And we take care of each other. Reporter and other neighbors say that we would all be lucky to have someone like her next door. Oh my gosh that is my nightmare to have that water main on the pipe break in your house or sweater. To come home to as my heart goes out to him. Reporter so the moral of the story is that there is nothing like a Good Neighbor to watch out for you in the weather like this one as it is also a reminder do you have someone that you can lack out for your house . Does someone you know or trust might be a neighbor or a phone number and a key to get in the house . Do they know where the water main shut off is . Do you know where the water main shut off is . So if stuff likes this happen and it is bound to all over the area, youll be able to prevent causing Something Like this in your neighborhood. One final word, you know, if you are potentially going to be out for the night or away, maybe out of town that it doesnt hurt to shut that water off yourself before you go. So if that pipe cracks, you dont end up with the drama like this one. Reporting live in northwest scott broom wusa9. All great reminders that sound so happy to have such great neighbors. All right as scott said the cold weather leads to busted water mains all around the area. They are working right now to repair a break at west moreland street. The one prominent longtime rabbi did that. He decided to plead guilty to take responsibilities for his actions with the understanding that it was wrong. And that he wants to get his life in order and move on. Reporter he admitted to using the clock radio, a tissue box, and a fan all with recording devices inside, taping different angles of one getting undressed. Police saw his face captured on video setting them up. This man says his wife is one of those 52 victims. Well you know i saw gods hands.
