Sky 9 is doing a good job of getting us an aerial perspective. The problem is youll need to add 10 to 15 minutes to your morning commute to bypass that delay. Thats where Nikki Burdine is now with an update on what we know so far. Nikki . Reporter thats right. Heartbreaking news any time really but especially less than a week before christmas a man shot to death inside a house. Police say by a man he knew. Take a look. It happened at this home behind me in the 24000 block of ridge road here in damascus. Police tell me that the victim and the suspect knew each other. The victim was a 40yearold man. The suspect a 35yearold man. This is actually the suspects home. Police tell me that the victim and his friend were invited over here to the suspects house yesterday. They were here for quite some time when for some reason there was an argument just after 12 30 this morning for some unknown reason the suspect shot and killed that victim. Im told that police have made a quick arrest in this case. The suspect is already in custody. He stayed on the scene. In fact, his wife even called 911. Police have not released the names of the suspect or the victim in this case. As soon as we have that information, well bring it along you to. Murder charges are expected to soon be filed against a 17 yearold high school student. Another 17yearold who was stabbed last month inside a baltimore classroom has died. Police say on november 24, sophomore Dante Crawford entered the classroom at Renaissance Academy high, stabbed the victim and ran away. Hes already charged as an adult with attempted murder. Traveling eastbound on i66 still problem free from Fairfax County parkway to l street northwest, now a 23minute commute. On the virginia side, we still have some volume. Primarily starting to pick up in springfield as you approach i395. Traveling from gordon boulevard making your way into springfield there at the interchange, youre looking at now a 10minute comiew. Traveling on the inner loop of the beltway from Central Avenue to indian head highway, youre looking at a 10minute commute there. You can see the volume both on the inner and outer loop.
