We will start with a developing story out of richmond. Officer dermyer was shot at a Greyhound Bus station in richmond and a gunman hit him several times at close range seconds into a conversation. A vigil will be held today to honor his life. And mikea turner is here to tell us more. Reporter that is right. People prepare to venture out for the vigil to honor the life of officer dermyer. Police are trying to figure out why this happened in the first place. Aquestion a lot of people are asking. The shooting came without a warning. And today, again, people will gather for a vigil across the street from e station and honor dermyers life. An armor of local and state Police Officers covered every angle of the Greyhound Bus station on thursday. Aman opened fire on one of their own for a reason unknown. People close by were shaken by gunshots. I open the door. Reporter and chad dermyer approached a man in the bus station. And moments later the man pulled out a gun. Triggering a shootout with Police Officers. The suspect, who police have not identified, was shot. He and dermyer were taken to the hospital and they both later died. Reporter two women were injured during the shootout. They are expected to survive. Police are asking people to wear Navy Blue Shirt today to back the blue. And bring white single roses. That individualal is vigil is at 6 30. Thank you. A man porn scandal is facing a new lot suit. An 11yearold girl alleges that caraway told the fifth grader he would kill her, if she told anyone that he forced her to engage in a sex act. In montgomery county, a mother is speaking out after her child was sexual adult by a day laborer. The mother hired gonzales outside of a 7eleven to help with the move. Gonzales is charged with molesting the child, this happened with the mother was in the same house. What hurts the most, i was literally on the lower level and as a parent you feel guilty. Acalifornia Police Officer was called to check on a suspicious vehicle but look at what ended up happening. Instead, he made a new friend. This is video beach officer playing hopscotch with an 11yearold homeless girl. The video gone viral. The Police Officer found the mother and child living out of their car. Trooper chad dermyer was shot and killed at a greyhound station yesterday. Two women were injured. But they will survive. The gunman was dead. Dermyer was at a Training Section and he was shot. Mikea turner. Reporter that is right. For no reason at all. Police are trying to figure out why it happened. Dermyer was a former marine and graduated from the academy two years ago. His future was bright. Thank you. Reporter in a news story shot some time ago by an abc station in richmond, chad dermyer is shown. He united a man with his dog. Officer dermyer a former marine and father of two children was almost two years in on a Virginia Police force and a magic to his life inside on thursday. Dermyer was a michigan native, serving on the Police Department there and started a new life in virginia. The officer was just 37year old. The vigil will be held across the street from the greyhound station in richmond. Wear a Navy Blue Shirt or bring white roses. Thank you. The Church Search is on for a newspaper vendor. A man police are looking for is 50yearold Daniel Richard brown. Thats his picture there on the screen. Ametro spokesperson is saying brown was distributing the express paper after 8 30 in the morning and got into an altercation. That ended with the victim being tackled and stabbed. The victim is in stable condition. Police have Surveillance Video footage and witness accounts of exactly a man found guilty of opening fire on a metro bus last summer will be sentenced this afternoon. Brown was found guilty in august. One person was hurt when brown fired into a bus. The shooting prompted metro to temporally stop running buses at night along that route. We now know the weapon that caused a lockdown on capitol hill on monday was a b. B. Gun. Hill will face two felony counts. The capital was on lockdown for an hour. Afemale bystander suffered nonlifethreatening injuries. Gridlock at the nations capital. Something were all too familiar with. That was the case yesterday around the Washington Convention center. They closed down roadways around the perimeter of the convention center. That led to closures of the main arteries inside and out of washington, d. C. , including massachusetts and new york avenue.
