They were focused today. They have little playoff experience. But its the mind set theyre going into. Not to get too ahead of themselves. Dan snider was on the practice field today checking out the teams progress. They maybe nervous. But the players didnt show it. They were focused. All 52 players for the first time in weeks were practicing in some capacity. They keep reminding us, and perhaps themselves, this is part of their job, its just another game. Everybodys got to do their part for us to win the game. Everybody has to play with great effort, great energy, and do their job, and not worry about anybody else or what theyre doing. We have to continue to focus on what we do as the Washington Redskins and make it about us and well be fine. On the field, i dont know that its much different. Weeks 1 through 17 the guys on the field are playing for everything. Its their livelihood, its how they feed their families. I dont know that desire changes a lot come the playoffs. I think its a way to feed your family. And youll get the best from everybody out there. Im joined by former nfl receiver donte. Youve been in this position before. They keep saying just another game. Just another week. But how hard is that to have that mind set . Its hard. Especially for the guys who havent been in the playoffs. I can remember my first time in the playoffs. All i could think about when preparing was its the playoffs. But i think at the end of the day, what you try to do is you try to continue to prepare the way youve done all year. You dont want to change anything. You dont want to out smart yourself or out think yourself. You want to take it as business as usual and go into the game. And once the game starts then you can start. Still enjoy the ride for a little bit at the same time. You saw at the beginning of the show the fans will have that you like that towel. New tonight, Fairfax County police have released surveillance photos of a man who robbed a walmart by posing as an employee. It happened december 15th at the fair lake shopping center. Which of course no easy task when youre going up against a perennial playoff team. But the redskins have momentum. Theyre looking to ride the momentum from their fourgame winning streak to end the season. It was an intense practice out to here today. Plenty of smiles to go around. But no messing around out here on the practice field. This team is focused. Theyve overcome so much this season from the doubters to adversity, injuries theyve dealt with that they arent ready for it all to end just yet. I think well come out the way we need to on sunday, period. You know. Its not a win for us just being in the playoffs. You know. For us, its winning the game. You either win or you lose. Theres no moral victories in football. Joined now by former receiver donte, hes saying its not a win just to be in the playoffs. You like that mentality. I like that. I do. It gives you a sense of the mentality of not only him but of what hes trying to get the message hes trying to get across to his team. Every teams goal is to first win the division, you win the division, you get a home game in january. And then the next goal is to win the super bowl. Thats been their goal. He said thats not enough. We want more. This defense has to find a way to stop aaron rogers. A future hall of famer. Theyre a perennial playoff team mostly because of aaron rogers. And amazingly, the packers with all their playoff success come to town on sunday as under dogs to the redskins. The skins defense knows if they want to advance, they have to limit mr. Rogers. The way he elude the pocket. The way he able to prolong plays. With his legs and make deep balls. And just the chemistry that they got as an offense. As a quarterback hes a great athlete. He can make the throws and move well in the pocket. And hes real smart. He can stay in the pocket, fall, trip, and hell still throw an accurate pass down field 70yards, 30yards it doesnt matter. Hes a good quarterback. But any quarterback is great when theyre comfortable. Our job is to make him get uncomfortable. Redskins have had a mixed bag this season when facing elite quarterbacks. They lost to cam newton and the panthers. Lost to tom brady and the new england patriots. But they did beat drew brees when the redskins defense got a lot of pressure on brees.
