Updated: 11:11 PM EDT Jul 7, 2021 Severe thunderstorms with strong winds and heavy rain left damage across Allegheny County on Wednesday evening. Watch video of the damage left behind in the video player above. As of 10 p.m., Duquesne Light Company said roughly 18,000 customers are without power across the region. All customers are expected to be restored by 11 p.m. Thursday, but officials said many will be restored sooner. Duquesne Light officials said more than 22,000 customers lost power at the height of the storm. Allegheny County officials said Edgewood Borough has declared a state of emergency due to massive storm-related damage. In Wilkinsburg, there were branches down on a home and vehicle along the 1400 block of Penn Avenue. No injuries were reported. Allegheny County officials have also tweeted about trees being down on houses in other areas including Shaler, Tarentum and Harrison Township. In Bridgeville, police said evacuations were underway on Baldwin Street due to flooding.
