The journalists were identified as Prangopal Acharya, Pintu Paul and Biswajit Debnath. According to the
Tribune, the police said: "About 4-5 persons were wounded and the three scribes were attacked, but they were not injured. Police is investigating the case."
BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee claimed that the incident occurred “in front of the police” and urged the police to arrest the “real culprits involved in the incident”. Three complaints have been filed, including one from a journalist organisation, but there have been no arrests yet.
