Trivendra Singh Rawat resigned as the chief minister of Uttarakhand on Tuesday, nearly four years after he took the oath. With his resignation, Trivendra Singh Rawat became yet another Uttarakhand chief minister who was unable to complete his full five-year tenure. In the 20 years since Uttarakhand's formation, Congress stalwart Narayan Datt Tiwari has been the only chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat was going to complete four years in office on March 17. Since 2000, when the state was formed, Uttarakhand has seen eight chief ministers: Nityanand Swami, BS Koshyari, ND Tiwari, Maj Gen (retd) BC Khanduri, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Vijay Bahuguna, Harish Rawat and Trivendra Singh Rawat.
