Troy introduces downtown parking app Jan. 4 [Times Union, Albany, N.Y.] Dec. 13—TROY — The city will resume charging for on-street parking downtown on Jan. 4 when it introduces its new mobile parking app. The announcement of the parking fees at the street kiosks starting up again is on the city’s website under “parking.” The parking meter collections were halted earlier this year in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Troy joins the cities of Albany and Schenectady in the Capital Region with parking apps for their downtowns. The ParkAlbany smartphone app has been in use since 2018, while Schenectady’s came online a few months ago.
