Tulsa Public Schools Could Return To In-Person Learning In Late February Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Deborah Gist says she believes that students return to in-person learning before the end of February. She said she is not making a recommendation. "Based on our current COVID trajectory, and of course subject to board approval, I believe we can bring our students back to in-person learning before the end of February," said Gist on Monday. Dr. Gist cited data that shows a downward trend for infection rates within the district saying that it the longest sustained decline since the pandemic began. Gist also announced a plan for expanded Summer learning programs for students. Dr. Gist did not provide a specific date for return, with that decision being in the hands of the school board which will meet Monday night.
