(WMC) - The city of Tupelo is no stranger to tornados. Sunday nightâs destruction marked the third time this has happened in eight years, which is how long Mayor Jason Shelton has been in office. âThe unfortunate benefit of that is weâre battle-tested,â Shelton said âWe have our emergency plan.â We are in Tupelo covering cleanup operations from the tornado that swept through this area last night.
