A team from Kamanaickenpalayam police that checked the vehicle found two bags containing 70 liquor bottles. “When Tasmac outlets were closed in 11 districts including Coimbatore, Tirupur, Nilgiris and Erode due to rising number of Covid-19 cases, people from Tirupur started to visit Dindigul to buy liquor. Smelling an opportunity, Muthusuruli and Duraimurugan smuggled liquor from Dindigul to sell it at a much higher price here,” a police officer said.
