Burkeville Fire Chief Charles Duckworth says two people were critically injured in a weekend accident involving multiple motorcycles. According to Duckworth, firefighters were dispatched out shortly after 5:00 Saturday evening to a location on Highway 87 about 4 miles north of Burkeville. They arrived to find that the incident had occurred in a curve and involved a total of six motorcycles. Sergeant Stephanie Davis of the Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash occurred near Farm to Market Road 1415. Davis said an investigation revealed that a 2005 BMW was traveling southbound on Highway 87 when the driver entered a curve at a high rate of speed and lost control of the bike causing it to leave the road and hit several trees.
