SAULT STE. MARIE, MI – An Upper Peninsula teacher is facing charges for alleged sexual conduct with an underage student, WPBN/WGTU reports.
Timothy Strader, an automotive teacher at Sault Ste. Marie Area Public Schools, was arraigned on three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, a misdemeanor; and one count of felony child sexually abusive activity related to alleged incidents between January 2016 and December 2019, Chippewa County prosecutor’s told the TV station. Strader is currently out of jail after posting a $5,000 bond.
The school district has placed him on leave and cooperated with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Department during the six-month investigation, Superintendent Timothy Hall said in a statement.
