Appearing on his behalf, senior advocate Kapil Sibal informed the SC that "due to change of circumstances", Khalid wished to withdraw the bail plea and move the trial court for appropriate relief. Recording Sibal's statement, a division bench comprising Justices Bela M Trivedi and Pankaj Mithal allowed the withdrawal of the bail plea.
