(WLFI)—United Way of Greater Lafayette is celebrating a national award. Thanks to The Campaign For Grade Level Reading, United Way of Greater Lafayette was one of 54 communities awarded. The organization was given the honor based off of its innovative response to COVID-19. United Way stepped in to helped the community when the pandemic hit. The organization created a COVID-19 resource fund to help families in need. Ebony Barrett with United Way of Greater Lafayette said the recognition is an example of what can happen when communities come together.
