WOOSTER — Generous donations by community members helped United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties surpass its 2020 campaign goal of $1.5 million. The nonprofit organization used nearly every platform imaginable to reach out to the community to make its fundraising goal this year. Individual contributions increased this year while funds from workplace campaigns decreased yet still made up a majority of the fundraising. “We didn’t back down to the pandemic. We didn’t let that dissuade us from fundraising,” said Katie Koglman, executive director of the local United Way chapter. “People stepped up to the plate. They gave back with their whole heart to help people in this community.”
