In a virtual press conference, UA President Dr. Pablo Crespo Jr. said they are currently on a two-week dry run. "We started the face-to-face classes after two years with a flag-raising ceremony," he said. Students enrolled in the College of Business and Accountancy and College of Marine Studies will have their face-to-face classes Monday and Tuesday. Wednesdays and Thursdays will be allotted for students at the College of Arts and Sciences and College of Engineering and Architecture. Crespo said every Friday will be for "catching up" or work from home for both students and teachers. The Laboratory High School, College of Computer Studies, College of Teacher Education and College of Technology will start their in-person classes dry-run next week. "The students were all excited to finally have their face-to-face classes because of their limitations encountered such as connectivity and attendance issues during the previous years," he said. Dr. Jelyn Alentajan, UA Vice President for Academic Affairs, said students and teachers are encouraged to adopt the Learning Management System, which is a combination of in-person and online learning. "We hope that these two-week limited face-to-face classes will already continue," she said in the same virtual conference. She added the conduct of in-person learning is done with the help of the health personnel and sentinels so that the guidelines against the spread of Covid-19 could be properly observed by students even inside their classrooms. Upon entering the gate of the university, students are required to fill out contact tracing form and to have mandatory temperature check. Students with signs and symptoms of Covid-19 will have to stay in the isolation center of the university for them to be attended by the school health personnel. (PNA) }
