Gustafson suffered a medical emergency at the police station and later died at a local hospital, the West Fargo Police Department said in a news release Wednesday, May 19. He had been with the department for over 10 years. “Lieutenant Gustafson will be remembered for his contagious smile and laughter, along with his dedication, teamwork and service to the City of West Fargo,” Police Chief Denis Otterness said in a statement. “Lieutenant Gustafson has made a lasting impact within our department and he will never be forgotten.”
