Little did he fathom that performing amongst international artists from 11 countries would change his destiny in a way that he would get a chance to travel to around 60 countries and his favourite instrumental tabla would resonate in these places. Back in 2003, in the city of Napoli, Italy, artist Amrit Hussain represented India in the Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio of 11 countries and left a mark by presenting the art of our country and since then there has been no looking back for him. "During the Europe tour in 2003, there was a chance to represent India with artists from 11 countries in a multinational orchestra. I have inherited music. Music is being served in our gharana for 7 generations. Our abba Ustad Rafiq Mohammad Saheb and Dada Ustad Rasool Khan Saheb always say that this tabla is worshipped like Saraswati. Respect it. Don't think of it as a roadblock. Never keep a shoe near the tabla. Never put your clothes on the tabla. Treat it as an object of worship. There is a soul in every instrument. If you want to become a good artist, then you have to take permission from that instrument so that that instrument accepts it. This is a very important thing. If that instrument accepts, then understand that the door has opened. When I was 5 years old, my journey of playing the tabla started. I spent my childhood in Jaipur only. From an early age, abba started teaching tabla to me," he tells us.
