USDA seeks nominees for the Hass Avocado Board The U.S. Department of Agriculture is seeking eight nominees for the Hass Avocado Board. Seats open for nominees are two producer and two importer seats for members and two producer and two importer seats for alternates. USDA will appoint members and alternates to serve three-year terms beginning Nov. 1, 2021. Nominations for these seats are due to the board by March 30, 2021. The board engages an independent certified public accounting firm to conduct an industry vote to choose nominees to be considered for appointment by USDA.
