LPG coverage has reached 99% from 40% in 2014, Narendra Modi, Prime Minister GUWAHATI: PM Narendra Modi on Saturday said Assam is coming up as a major center of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” by constructing toilets, improving power and drinking water coverage and bettering infrastructure. Speaking at the historic Jerenga Pathar in Sivasagar while distributing land pattas to landless natives, Modi said, “For a self-reliant India, rapid development of the northeast and Assam is necessary. The road to self-reliant Assam passes through the confidence of the people of Assam and confidence only grows when basic facilities are available and the infrastructure is better. Over the years, unprecedented work has been done in Assam on both these fronts.”
