Created: March 04, 2021 12:26 PM ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) —Vaccine doses are on the way for teachers in the Rochester City School District, the teacher's union confirmed Thursday. In an update on the Rochester Teacher's Association website, President Adam Urbanski said 1100 Pfizer shots will be made available next week. The doses will be set aside for members of the RTA and the Rochester Association of Paraprofessionals. It's part of a push by the Biden administration to get students back to learning in-person in schools. Gov. Andrew Cuomo supports the push to reopen schools, saying Wednesday “We need children back in classrooms. Children not in classrooms hurts the child, it hurts their socialization."
