Vaccine eligibility and access are expanding again Written by Putnam County Next Vaccine eligibility and access are expanding again, giving the Putnam County Department of Health the ability to vaccinate more of the county’s residents, Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell said. All New Yorkers 60 years of age and older will be eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations as of March 10, following a change in state rules. Public-facing government and nonprofit employees and building workers will be added March 17 to the growing list of essential workers who are eligible for the vaccines. “Our frontline employees who deal with the public every day, are finally able to get the vaccine protection they need,” County Executive Odell said. “We have asked for this for a long time, and I’m very happy the state finally listened.”
