Vehicle crash at ORNL portal

At 6:27 a.m. Friday, Oak Ridge police investigated a single-vehicle crash with injuries at the west end entrance portal to the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
The driver of the vehicle, Susan-Karen George-Lopinto, 60, of Indian Orchard, Mass., crashed into a fixed object just inside the ORNL property, according to a city of Oak Ridge news release. She was taken to Methodist Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
Motorists who are subscribed to the Oak Ridge Police Department’s Nixle alert system were notified to avoid state Highway 95 at Bethel Valley Road because of the crash.
