VGCC nursing program pitches in to help vaccine drive


OXFORD — The head of Vance Granville Community College’s associate degree nursing program, Dr. Anna Seaman, Simulation Coordinator Brande McILroy and students participated in Granville Health System’s two-day COVID-19 vaccine drive on Jan. 15 and Jan. 16.
The event served more than 2,000 members of the local communities and beyond. Senior students participated in vaccine administration. VGCC faculty and junior students helped with all other activities related to documentation, paperwork and timing related to monitoring of participants after vaccine administration.
The faculty and students plan to help with future events at Granville Health as well as other health care facilities in the service area.
