(WFIE) - The COVID-19 pandemic has been good for shelter animals. New numbers show the Vanderburgh Humane Society is breaking records with a 91 percent animal save rate in 2020. The society housed 500 more than their highest ever number and nearly quadrupled the number of animals transferred last year alone. One of those adopting, Senay Klaus of Grayville, Illinois, said adoption was always her only plan to add a new pet to the family.
