VHSL rescinds face-mask requirement playing in games Photo: WINA CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Word now from the Virginia High School League it’s rescinding it’s mask-wearing requirement for those participating in the games. After Governor Northam’s new restrictions regarding gatherings and mask-wearing indoors last week, VHSL Executive Director Billy Haun issued a statement that athletes will have to wear face-coverings while playing. However, Monday morning, Dr. Haun issued another statement saying that requirement was issued in anticipation of the Governor’s Executive Order 72 would include such a provision. But, the Executive Order that has been issued said requirements “do not apply to individuals exercising or using exercise equipment”.
