In a text message to reporters, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said of the eight deaths, two were from Eastern Visayas, one from Davao Region, and five from Caraga Region. The missing resident was also from Caraga, while two others were recorded injured in the area. NDRRMC deputy spokesperson Mark Timbal confirmed the incidents, but the agency has yet to give more details on the casualties.
