PETALING JAYA: It is imperative that victims of incest know that they are not alone, Wanita MCA says. "The trauma from incest can leave permanent wounds on one's mental and physical health as trust in one's closest kin is broken. Hence, it is important to always have a listening ear for the victim. "Any support rendered will aid in the victim's healing process and discourage others from engaging in such abuse. More importantly, encourage, accompany the victim to file a police report," Wanita MCA chief Datuk Heng Seai Kie said in a statement on Sunday (June 6). She added that as victims are now starting to lodge reports and that Wanita MCA encourages victims to stop suffering in silence.
