Vietnam PM sworn in as new President Vietnam's ruling Communist Party on Monday confirmed that Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the country's Prime Minister since 2016, will take up the largely ceremonial role of state President. A resolution on electing Phuc as the new President was adopted with an approval rate of 97.5 per cent at the ongoing 11th session of the 14th National Assembly (NA), the nation's parliament and principal legislative body. The session will also see the party elect 25 key leadership roles, including a new Prime Minister and head of the NA, reports dpa news agency.
