VOTE ON IT: Dropping speed limit should be on the ballot, says councillor

A ‘yes’ or ‘no’ question about lowering Winnipeg speed limits could show up on the 2022 municipal election ballot if City Councillor Shawn Nason (Transcona) finds favour with the mayor’s Executive Policy Committee in the coming weeks.
Nason’s motion, filed in an upcoming committee meeting agenda, explained there is strong interest among Winnipeggers to have a fulsome debate about lowering the citywide speed limit from 50 km/h to 40 or 30 km/h.
