Voters pass all five local proposals in Tuesday election HOLLAND — Tuesday’s special election was a successful one in the Holland area. All five ballot proposals in the area were passed, all receiving at least 59 percent support at the polls. During the May 4 election, voters approved several operating millage renewals, including Macatawa Area Express (MAX) Transit’s 0.4 mill ask (82 percent yes vote) and 18 mill non-homestead renewals for West Ottawa Public Schools (72.1 percent) and Zeeland Public Schools (72.8 percent). There were also two bonding proposals up for a vote from local schools. The $74.65 million Build 2021 campaign from Holland Public Schools passed with 73.4 percent of the vote, and ZPS’ $75 million ask was approved with 59.7 percent support.
