It feel too hot for children that dont notice how hot it is and the elderly and your pets. Dont forget about them, especially come the afternoon. Police are looking for an accused rapist they had in custody then set free. He is daniel nieto. He allegedly raped a 7year old. He was charged with trespassing but was released before police were made aware the girl was assaulted. We have the suspects picture as you can see here. Its posted on our facebook page. Edena hynes was stabbed multiple times yesterday morning in Washington Heights. Lamar davenport is charged with second agree murder. A. J. Ross has more from Washington Heights. Like 3 00 a. M. I heard a guy yelling and i heard a woman scream. Reporter a loud commotion in the middle of the night outside of this apartment quickly caught the attention of people who lived nearby. Screaming, jesus christ is born. I go to the window and i see him on top of a woman and i couldnt really see what was going on. Then the police came. Two police cars came and arrested the guy. Reporter a 911 call brought police to the scene within minutes where they discovered edena hines with multiple stab wounds to her chest and body. She was rushed to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The granddaughter of well known Actor Morgan Freeman she graduated from nyus acting program. Shocked friends and fans offered condolences on social media throughout the day as Morgan Freeman issued the following statement saying the world will never know her artistry and talent and how much she had to offer. Her friends and family were fortunate enough to know what she meant as a person. Her star will shine bright in our thoughts, hearts and prayers. May she rest in peace. The nypd literally minutes ago announced that Lamar Davenport of Washington Heights has been arrested on Second Degree murder charges. He is being held at columbian presbyterian hospital. The search is on for an escaped prison nor in east harlem. Austin stevens was arrested at a building yesterday morning. During his escort to the station house, he shoved an officer, ran away in his handcuffs. He is the third prisoner to escape since june 23rd. Police eventually captured the other suspects. A man accused of kidnapping an 18yearold woman in queens faces several charges including 21yearold Jonathan Cornell was taken to the hospital for selfinflicted stab wounds. Police say he kidnapped the young woman at knifepoint saturday. Cornell is facing robbery, kidnapping and weapons charges. Service is back up and running on the Ronkonkoma Branch of the l. I. R. R. After a deadly plane crash that damaged the tracks in Nassau County. Before 8 00 yesterday morning the pilot of a singleengine plane headed from westhampton to morristown, new jersey. The fiery crash left the tracks badly damaged in one of the busiest areas of the lopping island railroad. Buses were brought in to get riders from station to station. A lot of people are upset and wanted to rage and just get home or get to work or get to the city. The pilot of the plane was killed in the crash but investigators say the way he landed did allow for his passenger to make it out alive. The faa is investigating the cause of the crash. The other diver is expected to recover from a broken leg. This morning one person is in critical hotair balloon accident that happened in pennsylvania. The balloon carrying two passengers and a pilot saturday night landed safely. But when it was deflating, the top blue over the balloon hitting power lines. A thief targeting a classic car show made off with a piece of pizza history. Surveillance video showing a truck pulling a trailer out of a parking lot in michigan. Thank you, debbie check now, the search is on this morning for a man that allegedly snuck in a home on Staten Island and raped a 7yearold girl. Eyewitness News Reporter dray clark is live at the 121st precinct. Good morning, ken. At one point police had daniel knee eat to nieto in custody. It wasnt until after his arrest that they learned of the alleged rape of a 7yearold girl. This is a look at him on august the 6th. Police say he entered in a familys home through an unlocked backdoor. Went into the 7yearold girls bedroom where investigators say he raped her. The family discovered nieto inside their home. They immediately called police. He ran but police found him not too far away from where that family lives. Again, he was charged with trespassing and released and only later did detectives learn of the claim that he raped a 7 yearold girl. The family said they have never seen nieto, a complete strapinger. Police want to find this guy. He is out there lurking and this appears to be a crime of opportunity that turned into an alleged rape. If you have any idea of who he is or where he might be this call. More than 2,000 people at this early hour have already shared it on our facebook page. Rescue officials spotted the wreckage of a plane that crashed in a remote area of indonesia. Authorities say the flight carrying 54 people crashed into a mountain sunday. The plane was missing for several hours after losing contact with air traffic control. Rain and fog are hampering ground teams trying to reach the crash sight. At least four people were killed when two small planes collided. The planes caught fire when they hit the ground and broke apparently part. The wreckage and bodies scattered across a quarter mile area. The faa and National Transportation safety board are investigating the collision. A police stand off ended in new jersey with the suspect and two victims dead. Authorities say the shooter died from a selfinflicted gunshot wound more than five hours after barricading himself inside a home in warren. People are coming out in droves demanding the government pay for that massive disaster. Despite an 18 billion settlement, bp may not be done paying for the gulf Oil University spill. Im not sick. In china, about 800 people whose homes were devastated in the massive explosion in china demanded the government buy their homes, former residences and pay. A man accused of kidnapping an 18yearold young woman in including rape. He was taken to the hospital after his arrest for self inflicted stab wounds.
