Police tell us several people approached the man and opened fired, then jumped into a car and took off. Aabout an hour before that around 10 30 someone shot a man in philadelphias mantua neighborhood. Police found the victim at 38th and fairmont and took him to the hospital. Hes in Critical Condition as well. Mayor Michael Nutter will travel to mexico today to strengthen ties with a city thats already having an impact in philadelphia. Nutter will visit puebla. This morning, investigators are blaming nails that de deteriorated from sand salt and moisture from a deck collapse that injured two dozen people at a beach front home in north carolina. This happened over the Holiday Weekend. 24 members of an extended family were together on that deck for a group photo when it gave way, crashing 14 feet to the ground. I was on the phone with 911. I counted up to 21 people on the ground. I said you need to get as many ambulances as you can here. Investigators say the deck was up to code but the weight of all those people put too much stress on the nails that were holding the deck together. Most of the injured have been released from the hospital. A man fell off a deck to his death yesterday morning in newark delaware. Investigators say the 20yearold was hanging out with friends when he fell backwards off the deck and hit his head. Police say this was an accident. An arizona man learned the hard way, if you ever get locked out of your house, dont try the chimney. Firefighters had to drill holes in the chimney to rescue the 23yearold man. His friends locked him out as of house as a joke. He decided to show them a thing or two by going down the chimney. After 30 minutes, the firefighters freed him.
