The threat of rain isnt completely past us yet about. Glenn hurricane is wafrts is tracking whats coming upton the. None of the heaviest stuff is where they had the most rain. As you can see, on the radar, there are some showers. Some of them are even heavy. These are generally in pennsylvania. The area ted was reporting on is hard hit. Theres showers there, theyre on the light side. Thats not going to add to any kind of floods threat. The aerial Flood Warning for the rain thats already falling. That only goes until 4 45 p. M. Thats the only advisory that is left right now. We are watching these areas because its coming straight down to the south right across the same zone here. We call that training. If that continues, there could be some flood threats in parts of upper Montgomery County and this is in eastern Chester County where that heavier rain is. This is right across the pennsylvania turnpike here heading into east whiteland township in pennsylvania. The future cast showing that whatever is left winds down now, this computer model seems to have the rain into new jersey where its really in pennsylvania. So we hope this is wrong. Its certainly looking wrong initially. The thing its doing is clearing us out. That is going to be happening as we go through the night. A commuter credit was approved today many easy pass users will receive an 18 monthly credit who make 18 or more trips over the bridge each month. And then a heat wave is coming starting on the weekend. We have mostly cloudy skies out there now. We have so much rain this morning. The clouds are in the afternoon, they keep the temperature down. 78 degrees. The wind north. At 6 miles an hour. Seven degrees cooler than it was at this time yesterday. Were in the 80s in some spots. Were also in the 70s in areas that did see the rain at the jersey shore is in the 70s, its not because of a cold air mass its because they have clouds and weve had rain and its been a rough, rough day in many areas. Now, this map shows the radar estimated rainfall. From the Atlantic City area all the way through Gloucester County, and up into berks and chester counties in pennsylvania those yellow areas is over 2 inches of rain. As you get into the oranges and reds, were talking over 3, 4 inches of rain. This is in the Atlantic City area, 3 to 4 inches much of that came within a couple hours. Gloucester county again hard hit, three to four inches of rain, around philadelphia a little over 1, theres some bulls eyes in berks county. 4. 7 inches of rain many other parts of the area 2 to three inches. Flooding in North Hampton county. Three inches of rain there, while closer to the poconos, very, very little. Closer to allentown, much much less. It was kind of variable. It wasnt one of those things where everybody got pounded. But there was certainly some areas that got a whole lot more than others. What what does it look like now . You can see where the reds are, thats mostly in pennsylvania. In new jersey things are a lot quieter. Lighter rain there. We have heavier showers coming into upper bucks county upper montgomery, eastern Chester County<\/a> and now going into New Castle County<\/a> in delaware. Some of these places if it continues building like this could see some localized flooding nothing too widespread like what we have seen, well keep an eye on this rain along the shore to make sure it doesnt come down into the areas that got hit earlier. Theres Long Beach Island<\/a> getting grazed by one of those heavier showers. Now, the future cast is showing that theres likely to be some heavier showers into new jersey by 6 00. The radar does not suggest that. The radar has it back here. That is fortunate, because heavy rain in Gloucester County<\/a> for example, could cause big problems gradually, were drying out regardless of where those showers are. The trend is going to be for drying. And by tomorrow morning, there will be no rain anywhere. And it will be nice and comfortable too. By later this evening, the temperatures dropping into the 60s north and west look at this, by tomorrow morning, low humidity all day tomorrow lots of sunshine during the day. Temperatures getting into the 80s, but its really not going to feel like it. As we go into the rest of the night tonight, were going to continue to see some of those scattered showers around. Heavy rain slammed parts of south jersey today, drivers on Long Beach Island<\/a> had to avoid flooded streets after four inches of rain fell in less than two hours. Upper 70s in many areas. Pottstown only 72 degrees. And its only in the mid70s toward the shore, good thing this isnt the weekend. We have isolated showers left over by 7 00 by 9 00 well really dry out. We continue to dry out by 11 00. Well see how long that dry weather lasts. The drains just cant handle this amount of water. Crews set up cones and barrels to warn drivers, when the rain stopped they plan to clear as many drains as possible. You have these heavy downpours, you see leaves overflooding the streets. Theyre ready for a break. Dont have to worry about a drought this year. Reporter this drainage has all been redone. They just redid the dam as well as the drainage. Unfortunate timing because of all the heavy drenching rain weve dealt with this year. In plain field township close to 5 inches of rain gallo way township close to 4. Atlantic city two and a half a lot of cases, this rain came down in a short period of time. Thats whats cause s the flooding. Those are the areas we have to concentrate on here. Some places could afford to get some heavier rain others cant. As you can see on the radar, we have showers in pennsylvania and northern delaware thats the heaviest stuff. Its not moving toward new jersey which has gotten the hardest hit. You can see some showers moving through central bucks county. They got hit pretty hard yesterday. We dont sneed any of this rain. Eastern Chester County<\/a> continuing to get hit. Shower after shower west chester getting it right now, theres that one coming down through delaware county. The ones in northern delaware coming straight south. Theyre headed toward middleton right now. You dont often see these heavier showers moving north to south. The other area of course that got hit so hard toward the shore, and there is some rain its gotten a little bit stronger over the last 15 minutes. Well keep an eye on that as it heads down toward Long Beach Island<\/a>. As we go into the weekend things are going to complaining quite a bit. Were going to be escaping the heat. Its going to be in the 90s inland. These temperatures nice and comfortable looks mainly dry at the shore, just a slight chance of the shower. Better chance of showers and storms in the poconos, there too, youre escaping the heat thats going to be around in the inland areas. Philadelphias going to get well into the 90s by sunday and with the higher humidity its going to feel like its in the upper 90s. By sunday.
