A fight that began when a heavily armed Mohammed Youssuf abdel aziz was met with gunfire from a sailor trying to protect his post. He observed him and opened fire on him firing several rounds at him. Abdulazeez returned fire. He made his way throughout the building continuing to shoot at those who he encountered. He exited the building into a fenced area where he shot and killed two more Service Members before firing on another crowd seeking safety. Two Service Members attempted to provide cover and assist the military personnel getting over the fence and away from the shooter. The shooter continued to fire and kill two additional Service Members. Moments later, Chattanooga Police shot and killed abdulazeez whose reasons for doing this remain a 34i69ry. The heroic actions of these Service Members saved numerous lives. The first funeral for the five victims is this friday. Chris clackum, nbc10 news. Gun toting citizens are showing up at military recruiting centers around the country saying they plan to protect recruiters following last weeks deadly rampage. The group of friends said they were protecting the military personnel inside. They hope that others will come out and stand guard. Last nights incidents in the sky come after a string of laser pointer incidents were reported just last week 12 laser strikes in the cockpits in one night the potential risk in whats often considered a prank are high.
