The schuylkill expressway right around the vine street expressway, you can see moving along just fine. No problems on the schuylkill. The vine is doing okay. The schuylkill drive time into the center city area, eastbound from the blue route up towards the vine still about a 12minute trip. No real problems. The threecar crash closing callowhill between 20th and 21st. Take the vine street expressway to get through or Spring Garden. That will be your best bet through the local detoured area. Otherwise, follow the detours and you will do just fine. Its a little early for that right now. Youre heading to delaware on 95, 11 minutes from 295 up towards 495. Mass transit, free and in the clear. Currently no problems for new Jersey Transit, septa or patco. We continue to follow this breaking news out of philadelphias bustleton section. Rescuer have freed a man from under the engine of this csx freight train. Thats new information. We just got it into your newsroom. This is at welsh and grant. The victim is being taken to aria torresdale hospital. We dont know how he became trapped under the train. Rescuers have been working for an hour to try to get him free. We have a live picture there. You can see the damage to an acura. A pickup truck and a car were crashed into. Two people injured. This is causing some traffic problems, again in the area of callowhill street between 20th and 21st streets in center city. Be advised that accident is out there if you take that route to work. Following mass this afternoon, the cathedral will unville a large banner in front welcoming the pope to the city. Now to another issue septa has a new plan for selling Regional Rail passes for the papal visit. Nbc 10s vai sikahema is here to tell us how the Transit Agency will now be selling those passes much different than originally thought, vai. You have to have a little bit of luck this goaround. Septa will be running a lottery. On monday you can enter an Online Lottery for a chance to buy those rail passes. Septa came up with this idea after their website crashed last week because of high demand for the passes. Online registration will begin at 12 01 a. M. On monday. The lottery will run for 24 hours. Septa will notify winners next thursday, august 6th with an email allowing them to purchase the passes. After those purchases septa will mail those passes to customers, allowing them to boy up to ten. We spoke it a commuter and septa official appear to be on the same page with this new system. Plenty of people work and who might not be able to sit by the phone at x time. To me this creates a little more fairness. No matter what time you enter your lottery submission everyone has the same chance of being selected. This former philadelphia narcotics officer who pleaded guilty to corruption charges will be sentenced in federal court today. Its a fate his colleagues escaped. He agreed to testify against six other members of the narcotics squad. They were charged with beating suspects and robbing them of hundreds of thousands of dollars. In may a jury acquitted those officers and now five of them filed a defamation lawsuit against the mayor, the District Attorney and the police commissioner. They claim the officials made accusations that led to their firings and arrests. 5 07. From our south Jersey Bureau police say the man wud who terrorized employees at gunpoint at a haddonfield rite aid and carjacked a priest last month is now in custody. They say donald hart stole prescription pain killers from rite aid pharmacists before getting away in a retired priests car. The 27yearold was captured on Surveillance Video going into the store dressed as a construction worker. I think everyone was really shocked. And i think it put a fright into a lot of the people that live here. Investigators also think he is responsible for a robbery at a rite aid store in logan township. Ive been talking to the fire chief swell the overnight Police Commander on duty. You can see the csx train remans on the track here above the street. From what we understand the 46yearold man was freed from beneath a csx train just before 5 00 this morning. The Surgical Team at Einstein Medical Center had to remove his left leg above the knee. Police just told me that. We also checked with the commander on duty and he tells us they have no idea why the unidentified man was on the tracks at about 2 45 this morning. The engineer did stop the train. We have since learned that the accident Investigative Unit as well as northeast detectives are now on the scene, along with police from csx. This video is from april. It shows Mohammad Youssuf abdulazeez being arrested for driving under the influence. He was killed by pless after those shootings at two military facilities in chattanooga on july 16th. Federal investigators have arrested a man in florida with alleged ties to isis. They say he was planning to set off a bomb on a beach. A criminal complaint says 23yearold Harlem Suarez told an fbi source he planned to bury a backpack bomb in the sand and detonate it with a cell phone. Suarez made his first appearance in a miami courtroom yesterday. His Attorney Says the charges are blown out of proportion. Ive met this young man. Ive talked to this young man. Ive damaged his demeanor. He is not a violent jihadist. Hes not a member of isis. Suarez is currently being held at a federal detention center. Hes expected to return to court next week. Earlier this year when a north philadelphia was arrested and charged with trying to support isis with money and resources. Investigators say Keonna Thomas who goes by the name young lioness on social media wanted to join, fight and die for isis. If convicted she could face 15 years in prison. The schuylkill expressway around 202, traffic moving along nicely, whether youre headed eastbound or westbound, no problems there. 202 looks feign as well. You can see the cars are green as theyre heading northbound or southbound, 11 minutes at the most from route 30 up towards the schuylkill expressway. We do have delays on mass transit, though on septas airport line train number 401 is running about 21 minutes delay. Currently no problems for new Jersey Transit or the patco speed line.
