Take 95 to work southbound, woodhaven road to 676, that will take you about 12 minutes. In the a whole lot of traffic out. 76 eastbound, pa turnpike to 676 will take you longer, 33 minutes with the average speed around 41 miles per hour. As philadelphia prepares for Pope Franciss visit, we have a much clearer picture of how the tight security will transform the city. Fencing and metal detectors will block off miles of center city last month. Matt delucia is live along the ben franklin parkway to show us what we can expect in this security zone that the mayer announced yesterday. Reporter first it was the traffic box, now we have two security zones that will offer limited access during the popes visit. This area along the ben franklin parkway, this will be heavily restricted as you mightc imagi. The Mayors Office yesterday unveiled more of the citys plan to prepare for the papal visit. Essentially these security perimeters will go into effect the night of thursday, september 24th. We did learn there will be a fence with entry points where people will have to walk through a metal detector and there will be no vehicles allowed inside that zone. The second, wider perimeter will be in place to protect the fence. Vehicles will have to be removed and any vehicle that wants to go back in will have to be screened. As far as city government, thursday 24th through monday 28th. The city will operate essential services only. If you have any critical business or you have to pick up groceries or prescriptions, anything like that, get all of that done before that weekend. The city says the primary goal is to allow the 1. 5 million or so people the ability to walk. Where we are at the art museum, its about five miles away from camden and new jersey has been putting together their own pope plan. More on that coming up at 4 30. Classes are canceled wednesday the 25th through friday the 25th. Workers are cleaning up the city ahead of the popes visit, that includes rounding up these. Abandoned bicycles. The city crews collect these bikes every year but this year has special urgency. The bikes will be fixed up and donated to local children. The upcoming security changes will have a big impact on businesses in center city. Happening today in New Castle County, a dui task force will set up checkpoints in newport hoping to take impaired drivers off the road. Its part of a sixmonth Long Campaign across delaware. Last year almost half of traffic deaths in delaware were caused by alcohol or drugs. Students in the Philadelphia School district have exactly one month of summer left. This is either cleared construction or areas where we saw lane restrictions. There was a vehicle fire reported on the schuylkill around exit 332 to exit 330. Thats now been cleared. Road work on i95 exit 51 and the new jersey state line. Thats also been cleared. With if you take any of these ways to work, the good news is you dont have to leave extra early. This is the schuylkill westbound, city avenue to green lane. If you remember yesterday that truck lost its load of dry wall. There were lane restrictions. Theyve cleared up all the roads. Well tell you about an amazing rescue there at the site of the deadly warehouse explosions. Plus, buying guns at the local Convenience Stores. Thats what two little boys did in a local county. Where that sale happened and what police are doing about it. Youre trying to get the guns off the street, now theyre selling them to 9yearolds . That outrage in a Bucks County Community after two boys went to a Convenience Store for a candy and soda and came back with guns. Bristol police say those local boys went to a 7eleven and returned with two weapons that they bought with change in their pocket. Authorities arrested Reginald Cisco who they say sold a. 22 caliber rifle and air gun to those friends. The boys say he approached them in the parking lot of the 7eleven and asked them if they liked to hunt. He offered me two guns for 8. He asked me do you like to go hunting . I said, yes. Say this is the case. He stored it like this. We were going to buy ammo and stuff and go hunting when the wintertime comes. A cousin of the boys alerted police who alerted adults rather who called police. Investigators found out the rifle had been stolen from a nearby auto repair business on wednesday morning. Cisco remaan behind bars. Were hearing from one of two women rescued from a collapsed row home in center city philadelphia. It has a link to the deadly 2013 collapse that killed six people on Market Street. This collapse recently happened on butler avenue on wednesday. Campbell, campbell is the man charged in the Salvation Army thrift shop collapse on Market Street that killed six people two years ago. Neighbors near this latest property say that theyve been complaining about safety issues for some time now. Kind of been at the same stage for the long time. The wood, the basic outline of the building. It didnt seem like anyone was working on it for a while. L i says the buildings owner tried to build a house that was bigger than the city allowed. We tried contacting the owner and were still waiting to hear back. An update from china, rescue crews found a firefighter in the debris of one of these explosions more than 31 hours after the disaster. That firefighter was still alive and is now in stable condition. Amateur video captured the blast at a container warehouse in the city of tianjin, china. At least 50 people were killed, including 17 firefighters. Hundreds were injured and are still in hospitals there. Heres a live look at the scene there, again, tianjin, china. You can see more than 24 hours after these explosions, still smoldering. Fire crews are still putting water on it there. This is in an industrial area, still being investigated. Exactly what caused the explosion and what kind of materials blew up in that blast. The Global Leadership Academy Charter school in West Philadelphia opened yesterday. Looks like theyre proud to be back there. About five years ago this school abandoned the School Districts calendar to avoid what it calls summer brain drain.
