Looks like its going to go up into montgomery county. Not quite get into philadelphia itself. There are more showers up in northern pennsylvania. Some could make their way across, into, lets say berks county, and Lehigh Valley tonight. A couple more showers near washington. So were not out of the woods. But its certainly not a real stormy end to the day. This future weather computer may be overdoing it a little bit, showing these scattered showers and maybe even some thunderstorms over the next few hours, and then everything dies down, as we head toward midnight. President donald trump is praising the Recovery Efforts in florida following Hurricane Irma. The president touched down in ft. Myers today, along with the first lady and Vice President mike pence. The three toured irma damage and helped distribute lunches to people affected by the storm. We love these people and were going to be back and were going to help and the job that everybody has done in terms of First Responder and everybody has been incredible. The president also received a hurricane recovery briefing from fema and coast guard officials. Emergency workers are working around the clock to make sure elderly residents are safe following the deaths of eight people in a sweltering nursing home. They died after Hurricane Irma knocked o o eed out the airconditioning. An investigation is underway into what happened inside the facility afterward. In the meantime, firefighters are evacuating numerous assisted living facilities near orlando that have been without power since irma. And right now, the help is on hold for many victims of Hurricane Irma. Some south jersey organizations say the donations theyve collected cannot be delivered. Reporter the rotary here in mullica hill has been in close touch with their rotary partners in florida. They were raring to get there. They had supplies and had raised 5,000, but they were then told with little access to gasoline and other volunteer organizations becoming stranded across florida, they were told, please dont come. From drone video over the devastated florida keys, where one in four houses is ruined, to millions still without power, the devastation in florida stretches from miami to orlando, tampa, and jacksonville. Bud doesnt have family in florida, but he had his heart set on answering the manpower need there. Gas cans, extension cords, all kinds of things. We had a whole list. And we were ready and i just am very sad. Reporter it was this photo, seniors stranded in waistdeep water inside their nursing home during harvey that compelled bud to organize a local rotary deployment to florida. His mission, to connect with Nursing Homes and assisted living facilities to deliver generators, cleaning supplies, whatever was needed. And i dont want any person thats very fragile in our society like people in Nursing Homes to have to go through anything like that. Reporter 12 volunteers were set to shove off from south jersey saturday at 7 00 in the morning, but the mission ran out of fuel, literally. We couldnt get the fuel. We had concerns that with the volunteer group, that i felt for their safety that if i cannot get them back and forth safely. They said, its very difficult. People are stranded all over around here. And, even though we need the help, we really suggest you not coming right now. He did become emotional during our interview today, his heart also broken to hear that eight Senior Citizens died at that hollywood, florida, nursing home. He is inside working the phones now. Some 5,000 tourists were stranded with the residents of the islands when the storm hit. Nearly all of those tourists are gone now, leaving fulltime residents to pick up the pieces. The man accused in a murder that rocked the mainland earlier this morning says he still has to hire a lawyer. Derek rawlins appeared in court this morning three weeks after being captured in georgia. A judge agreed to delay the case for two weeks after rawlins told him he was still in the process of hiring a private attorney. Rawlins is accused of shooting and killing john lee in haverford township back in july. The apparent random shooting shocked the community. He also allegedly fired shots at two people in the overbrook neighborhood hours before the murder. A deadly crash caused big backups during this mornings commute on i95 in wilmington. Sky force 10 flew over this crash around the frawley stadium around 7 30. One car was smashed and looks like it caught fire there, clearly. The other car also has front end damage and its door was ripped off. Southbound lanes were closed for hours while crews cleaned all this up. At least one person died in this crash. State police are investigating. A live look over the controversial statue of frank rizzo. The monument was the scene of another flareup today as the city works to figure out its feat. Police blocked the statue with their bikes this morning after several people showed up with flyers. There have been renewed calls to tear the statue down. Those calls coming from people who say that rizzo treated the black community unfairly during his time as Police Commissioner and mayor. An accusation his supporters deny. The man who created this Mural Arts Program says plans to put it there were in the works long before the new calls for the rizzo statue to come down. Family, friends, and music legends celebrating the life of troy gentry today of the hitmaking duo Montgomery Gentry in nashville. Now to the latest on that deadly High School Shooting in Washington State we first brought you as breaking news yesterday. Friends of the suspect say he was obsessed with Previous School shootings and that he brought notes at the beginning of the school year, saying he was going to do something stupid and might get killed or jailed. Police say the teenager killed a classmate who confronted him in a hallway of the school near spokane. Three others were wounded before a custodian stopped the shooter. Here at home, new details on the search for the intruder who tied up and robbed a 75yearold man inside this roxborough home. Police today announced theyre looking for 21yearold mark mclaughlin. The victims sister was asleep inside the home during yesterdays attack. Investigators say mclaughlin made off with her car and her purse. And family members say mclaughlin is a former neighbor and the victim tried to help him in the past. Philadelphia City Council Members returned from their summer break today, but their first session was quickly interrupted by a group of activists. The activists were from the group called philly for real justice. Its an organization calling for Police Reform and a better relationship between the black communities and law enforcement. The Sheriffs Office says five people were cited for disorderly conduct. Time is running out before pennsylvania runs out of money. Lawmakers have until tomorrow to pass a funding plan. And if they dont, the state treasurer tells nbc 10 he wont bail them out to pay their bills. The house narrowly apeproved a funding package last night, but its opposed by governor wolffe and the governor says the state will run out of money tomorrow without a spending plan in place. The first bill that would not be paid is a 2 million medicaid payment to insurance providers. Lawmakers have been working three months to close the states 2. 2 billion budget gap. In atlantic county, a Memorial Service was held for former state senator and former Atlantic City mayor, jim wheaa. Whelan died last month from a heart attack. His family asks for donations to the South University foundation in memory of jim whelan. There are new developments in the historic breach that has compromised the personal information of nearly half of americans. The federal trade commission today announced its investigating how the Credit Rating agency equifax handled the breach. Equifax says a web server flaw in its software led to the cyber attack and that up to 143 Million People in the country might have been impacted. A local cybersecurity expert says you should act now to reduce your risk of identity theft. Apparently, equifax knew about it at the end of july but didnt announce it until september 5th or september 7th, which was actually almost six weeks. So thats a long period of time for your data to be out there. His recommendations, subscribe to a credit monitoring service. Equifax is offering one year for free.
