People on the island are struggling for the basics. Were talking food, water, electricity. This morning members of the Philadelphia Sheriffs Office are on their way to puerto rico to bring supplies to those in need. Nbc 10s matt deyeah joins us live with those details. Matt . Reporter those four men left the cripple Justice Center about a half hour ago. You saw them leaving live at 6 30. Their mission is a tough one but simple, to get help to the people of puerto rico. Tenhut reporter among the folks heading down there an inspector, a sergeant and two deputy sheriffs officers. Theyre going to be working to get supplies to those in need after Hurricane Maria hit the island. They have family in puerto rico and conditions have been very rough. A lot of transportation, medical stuff, anything that has to do with medical like hospitals. Reporter there they go leaving the criminal Justice Center about 6 30 this morning with a Police Escort. After saying goodbye to their families for a little while, their flight will be later on this morning. They do have a lot of work to do and are getting time to do it. They will be gone, in puerto rico for three weeks, not coming back until early next month and they say theyre going to get to work as soon as possible, possibly even today. Now live in center city matt delucia, nbc 10 news. New details on a story we first told you about as breaking news. The lockdown at Virginia State university is now over following a shooting. Investigators are calling this an isolated incident. Its unclear who the victim is and whos the shooter. This weekend large crowds have been gathering on campus for homecoming. Well continue to watch that. And some new information about a man found murdered inside of a philadelphiaing studio. Police now say the victim was shot and that a bloodstained screwdriver was found near his body. Police kept the 444 building anding lot closed off for hours. The body was discovered in the superior sound studio. Right now no word on a motive. Other former artists used the studio during their careers. No arrests have been made. Police are looking for clues in a deadly hitandrun. A mans body was found along allegheny avenue early yesterday morning. At first investigators thought the man had been shot but it turns out he was run over. There is no description of the car involved. Lehigh valley, new drone video shows the construction creating gridlock this weekend. Crews took apart the old bridge. The new bridge spans are now in place. Both directions between the Lehigh Valley and pocono interchanges are closed until tomorrow at 4 00.
