He was scheduled to be at work today . Reporter the gunman got into a black gmc acadia and drove to wilmington. In the hours since police from neighboring agencies joined the man hunt. In the northeast corridor there is a search for this vehicle and suspect. Every police department, every Police Officer is aware of who is being looked for. Nbc10 news. Wilmington police are holding a News Conference right now. We want to listen in and get the latest from that location. Right now he is not likely to die. He was able to give us pretty good information that immediately allowed us to make sure that we were able to link what just happened in maryland, where we got the alert from maryland police, who sent it over to delaware state police, who put it out and broadcast it throughout the state of delaware. We were able to put two and two together immediately because of the information supplied by the victim on 28th and northeast bull varr boulevard. He was shot in the head . According to witnesses one in the head vicinity and i believe one in the body. What was their relation . A business relationship. The individual . Between the suspect and the victim. Maryland or wilmington. Wilmington. Right now theyve had past history on criminal cases. Thats where i have to leave it at this time. There are some there is an historic basis going back a few years where theyre known to each other. Where one did something to the other . No. I dont believe there is any assaults between individuals or wrongdoing. I think its just a relationship that has gone awry for some reason. Leave it at that. As far as the week vehicle i concerned, was the vehicle always registered to him or did he get it off the lot of the car dealership, and second do you feel he is still associated with the car or has gotten rid of it at this point. I think it was coregistered, ill get that information and confirm it. Right now he has to know that everybody is looking for him. He has to see the news media, his Family Members have been contacted. So there is definitely he knows the amount of resources that are going to find him to make sure he doesnt cause any more harm. We have not seen the vehicle, so i have to think that he he probably put the vehicle somewhere. Well come across it, if its not in a garage. I dont think he is i dont right now if he is using it, then were going to catch up to it. Right now i believe he probably ditched the vehicle if he knows the type of resources we are putting in to find him. Did you look through his criminal background in delaware . He has right now in delaware, he has got 42 arrests. A lot of them are violation of probation. But right now he has 15 felony convictions and four misdemeanor convictions. Yes, we always look into the past history of arrests because thats where we can delve intelligence information of where he has been arrested, who his associates are, where he has lived and past relationships. All these things are in play and we absolutely look into those things. I think i got a question over here. Did you say your officer saw the vehicle leaving after the shooting . If they did, did they give chase, did they go after it . My officers were tending to more of the victim and, as we got information, that this might be the person, i think it was absolutely was in sight, but we were not able to pursue it to make sure that we could bring him in, apprehend this vehicle or bring this person to justice. Last we saw the vehicle was 30th and market. It probably was a short following. No pursuit. We lost the vehicle going northbound. Thats the last play officers saw it. 30th and market northbound. [ inaudible question ] right now we believe the shell casings that we have right now are possibly the same gun. We have to do a ballistic analysis on it. Well do that as quickly as possible to tie them in. We believe its probably the same gun used in both cases. Would it also be targeted is there anyone else you might think is targeted and do you know his current address where he lives . At least the city . Two parts to that question. Can anybody else be targeted . How many more people does he have beevfs with. I dont know. The rationale to shoot five people like he did, kill three and come here to shoot this individual that was shot on 28th and northeast boulevard. Could there be other people out there . Absolutely. But that when he was doing this was at a time when he wasnt well known and on our radar. I look at arrest records. As the other reporter asked, do we look at that. Yes. We look at intelligence information not only who he has been arrested with or anybody in a case who might know something that actually can cause harm by testifying. We look at all these things and make sure we get that information out and cover all our bases. I think the probability of getting to anyone else that he might want to get to he is going to expose himself where he we are probably going to make our arrest. Are there other friends or and family or associates of his that he has recommended to stay inside or do anything to protect themselves . Any possibility of that . Three workers there are dead and two injured. His last known location was at a car lot in wilmington where the owner was shot and wounded. Authorities saying they believe hes ditched the vehicle by now but theyve been putting out the description of the vehicle and the license plate. They believe he is in our area. Reporter the Family Member said they didnt know why someone who target the local Business Owner to loans tow trucks to loan out after a recent hurricane. He is a goodhearted man. Reporter they didnt recognize the man police had been looking for in delaware and in maryland. I dont know him. But to hear what happened, he is on a rampage. I dont know what disturbed him, but, you know, he need gods help. Reporter we did some digging on the suspect. We found an old address, called the house and spoke to a woman inside. She told us the accused shooter used to stay at the house off and on when he, quote, had issues but doesnt live there anymore. Take a look at this. Investigators say he opened fire inside a Maryland Office where he worked, killing three people and injuring two more. Investigators say prince then drove to wilmington and shot another man, who he knows. This time at a car dealership. Jerry sandusky lost his bid for a new trial. A judge denied his request to dismiss the charges against him. The former penn state assistant football coach is serving a 30 to 60year sentence on 45 counts of child sex abuse. No word on if sandusky plans to appeal. The sandusky case is among the biggest scandals in College Football history. Led to major changes in law regarding child abuse in pennsylvania as well as other states. Earlier today it was quite loud as people from the city of coatesville and parents and students decided to march to the school in protest. Some students left classes to join in. Racism is not a joke. Days ago a darkskinned doll found hanging in a locker room. Last night this photo made its way around the internet. While whatever was happening outside was happening, i am proud to say i had groups of students yesterday and today inside, finding and developing and recommending solutions. A pickup truck hit a tractortrailer and the car behind the pickup slid underneath. Two people went to the hospital with minor injuries. Investigators trying to figure out what caused this train to derail in brewery town around 7 30 this morning. Jose campos, the security officer, was on the 32nd floor checking out a blocked fire escape when he heard what he described as a drilling sound. Campos soon learned it was not a drill but, rather, stephen paddock, firing a gun from inside his room. Campos was shot in the leg. Moments later stephen schuck, a building engineer, came to the 32nd floor. Both say theyre still trying to heal mentally. Stephen was approaching. I told him to stay back and get cover.
