It aired to early 1988 every weekday from 5 00 to 5 30. It was the first of its kind menching news and entertainment with come immediatic segments and a lot of laughs. Although his time was short he never forgot his time here often sending former colleagues well wishes from his chair at the today show. Lauer has been recognized for his work and has been considered a broadcasting pioneer here. Today no one is talking about his awards and accomplishments. It is his actions leaving l maniman leaving millions of his adoring fans. Eight women claim he made unwanted sexual advances. There is a lot more to come on the lauer story. In other news now, weeks of fear may be over for People Living<\/a> in tampa after Police Arrested<\/a> a suspect in a string of deadly shootings. Nbc has more on who police have in custody. Overnight police making a stunning announcement. We will be making an arrest in the Seminole Heights<\/a> murders. A man they believe is responsible for murders that has shaken the city for nearly two months. Police arrested 24 donaldson after apprehending him earlier in the day taking a tip that he was carrying a firearm inside the restaurant. It launched an exhaustive operation blanketing neighborhoods all over tampa. Since october 9th four victims all killed within a 7 block area all targeted under the cover of darkness. Family and friends became emotional after learning of the arrest. Im shaking and my hands are sweating. Im overjoyed we caught this killer. It shows his cell phone records put him in the area of the murder. Police are saying they found dloeting similar to what the suspect was wearing in the first murder. They also found what appears to be a spot of blood on that clothing. Nbc news, tampa, florida. Pope francis continues his visit by meeting with a supreme council. It came after the pope addressed a crowd and told the countrys ethnic minorities to resist the temptation. The trip has been overshadowed by operations targeting the muslim minority. Business owners say not in my backyard. They are considering letting a methadone clinic moving to a neighborhood. The new clinic could treat up to a thousand drug patients every day and would be built with a 6 foot high fence around the property. People in camden say thats not nearly enough. They fear it will ruin their neighborhood. You have people sleeping on your business steps because they cant wait until it opens up. Why do we have to be the dumping ground for everybody . In south jersey we have a lot of 60s already. Its not even noon. It is 63 here and cherry hill and 62 in millville and 62 in hamilton square. That is pretty warm considering the average High Temperature<\/a> is 54. We do have a cold front thats approa approaching. It doesnt have any rain with it at the moment. Behind it there is some what cooler air. 43 in chicago. In the 60s yesterday. This is not cold air really and so its going to take a while for this cold air we have been talking about to get here. A few high clouds coming in sboo the region now. There are showers getting into missouri but otherwise it is bone dry in the eastern half of the country. Whats going to happen here is we go through the night tonight and into tomorrow morning we are still clear. Another front coming through tomorrow night and thats when we could see some showers. It has been pretty dry lately. A lot of this is in the middle of the night. First thing friday morning especially in south jersey and delaware could effect the morning rush. North and west of philadelphia by the morning rush time its already gone. And the rest of friday pretty sunny and not all that cold. Now, tomorrow it is colder. It is about 10 degrees colder than today. It is only 49 here and allentown at 46 degrees. Dover is 55. Nobody getting to 60 degrees tomorrow. What about the weekend . We have Early Morning<\/a> showers on friday. Thats especially true indelawa. Thats why i have pa suburbs and Lehigh Valley<\/a> dry. Some places will have rain and some wont at that time of day. Saturday and sunday the weekend is dry. The temperatures are right around average. Could possibly be a little bit above. So thats a pretty quiet weather pattern. As we go into next week it is a different story. Now we are talking about friday and the weekend. We have warmer air coming back in early next week and then some really cold air. The first of the season starts coming down. By next wednesday it is still not here. It is still mild even into next wednesday but starting thursday and especially friday and into next weekend it is going to be cold and its going to stay cold far while. For a while. Okay. There is a strong italian connection there. Tell us what it was like post world war ii. It because huge boom here and italian americans had big families and there were many churches and the neighborhood was tight and families nobody moved out. Everybody stayed close. I modelled my story really on a cousin of mine on my fathers side of the family. I did this kind of comedy with south philly and the town in italy. I went to the town in italy and did my research. The south philly component is great because they all lived in one house. You have an irish girl, jewish girl and all of the intermingling in south philly. And you published a popular book, cook with my sister. Coauthored with my sister. You brought a few extra books. I want you to do it for christmas. It is perfect. Its already wrapped. Its red and green. You dont even have to put a bow on it. It is the recipes on my grandmothers and my mother. My mother passed away this summer her name was ida. We did 20 additional recipes. It is updated from 13 years ago. New stories, new photographs. Its just fantastic. It has that spongeable cover. If you get your sauce on it it looks great.
