Reporter state officials leaving Montefiore Medical Center in the bronx saturday with a test sample from one of the hospitals cooling to yours as part of a blitz to stop the spread of legionnaires legionnaires disease. The state effort for exampling on testing 100 cooling towers in five sections of the bronx, fordham, mount eden, hunts point, mott haven and highbridge. We are here today to help manage this process. We are in constant communication with all levels of government including the city. Reporter the governor and mayors offices are teaming up to fight the outbreak despite growing tensions and concerns over who is in charge just hours after the governor deployed 150 state workers to the bronx, mayor de blasio held a news conference. The mayor revealing five new sites in the bronx where legionnaires bacteria has been found including a verizon facility, bronx housing court, bronx hall of justice, soon to be decommissioned post office and high school. Those sites samples and disinfected. As revealed, the potential of 161 buildings in the catchment area of the south bronx which is very defined, the good news is that this outbreak is clearly tapering off. Theres still more work to be done. Reporter the mayor was asked if politics is getting in the way of fighting the disease. We took charge on day one. We took matters in our own hands. The mother of a newborn baby boy found dead outside a queens Apartment Building has been charged in his death. According to police sources, Rashida Choudhury confessed to throwing her 19dayold son out of a fourth story window believing he was possessed. Investigators say the child was alive during the fall. A neighbor found his dead body then called 911. Choudhury is now facing Second Degree murder charges. Now to a developing story. There is a search going on in Dutchess County for a missing kayaker. The Sheriffs Office says a man and woman were kayaking in the hudson river near historic mills mansion in staatsburg this morning. The woman made it to store. The man didnt. A brooklyn couple is facing charges after reportedly leaving their children locked in a car while they gambles. Cbs 2s dave carlin is live outside the queens casino with the details. Dave. Reporter diane, police say its in here that these parents chose gambling over their daughters welfare. And now the parents are behind bars. These two sisters, six and eight years old, spend much of the Early Morning here at the stationhouse their mother and father now charged with child endangerment brought to the stationhouse in handcuffs, 33 yearold mother marie in a loha and 33yearold father gunned da jap segundo japa. They gambled in queens and put their daughters in jeopardy. They were left alone in the back of the suv in the parking lot for about an hour. Really crazy. Reporter a Security Guard spotted the girls in the suv around midnight and police were called. An officer told the girls to open the door and come out of the suv which they did. In the car while they were gambling. Its unbelievable that a parent could be so irresponsible to do that to put their own pleasures before the welfare of the kids. How do you do that . How do you do Something Like that . Your child, youre supposed to be with them to make sure they are okay and safe. You dont leave them in a car.
