The tricky rescue off the roof of a building in new jersey after a worker falls 15 feet off a scaffold. It happened this afternoon on federal boulevard in carteret. A ladder was brought in to bring the man down. He had a fractured leg. Police say the driver who cut off a casino bus driver before it crashed into a queens building was issued a summons. Cell phone video showed the driver pinned inside his wrecked bus yesterday surrounded by bricks. He is still in the hospital. Police say a toyota sedan had cut in front of the bus to make a right turn on woodhaven boulevard in rego park. The bus swerved out of the way but then jumped a curb and took out part of a building. Five other people were hurt. And a fastmoving fire ripped through a building in the bronx sending 8 firefighters to the hospital. Chopper 2 was over the scene. This is a building on east 232nd street in eden wall as flames shot from the roof. Investigator say the fire started on a lower level and spread through the wooden building. The injured firefighters were treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation. Residents got out safely. Early findings until the dramatic and deadly long island plane crash nine days ago indicate that an air Traffic Controller directed a pilot in trouble to land on an airstrip that was closed in 1990. He plummeted into a railroad crossing. Cbs 2s Jennifer Mclogan has the story from hicksville. Reporter chopper 2 aerials show the nonexistent bethpage Landing Strip the former grumman airfield. The pilot with engine trouble crashed less than a quarter mile away after being directed controller. The 59yearold pilot from Westhampton Beach joseph milo was killed when his small plane slammed into long island rail road tracks in hicksville near South Oyster Bay road. Audio of the conversation was recorded by a website tracking aviation activity. [ radio chatter ] reporter radio and radar contact were lost. It is unclear whether the controller gave directions based on personal knowledge or federal Aviation Administration records. Were little confused on the facts to feel peace. You know . Following milos funeral, a family reception was held here. I went to the funeral and there was over 3,000 people there. The pilot should have up to date maps and should know where he is but the controller can help and just advising him of his exact position wind direction, things like that. New york city saw a 220 increase in emergency room visits related to synthetic drugs and the medium age which is really surprising is 37 years old. That will make selling more than 25 grams of the drug a felony punishable by up to five years in jail. The play is about teenagers trying to figure out their bodies and their life and not getting the communication from their adults so we set it in a world where most of our teenagers are deaf and the adults are hearing [ music ] theres so many internal cues in the music so the deaf actor cant hear the music, a hearing actor will tap on their back four times the very them so that they know the rhythm so they know the tempo to walk. Reporter everyone is happy to have matlin and think she is an inspiration to the deaf community.
