Western Iowa Tech celebrates 50th year of construction program SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -- Western Iowa Tech Community College is celebrating the 50th anniversary of their construction program this year. In this program students can learn and graduate with the qualified skills needed to contract and build residential houses. College officials say hundreds of students have passed through the program in the past 50 years. Wednesday, program instructors, college officials, and the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce celebrated 50 years with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at their newest project home. Program instructors say this program has contributed a lot to the community over the past 50 years.
