WFFD: Fire started by cigarette, gasoline Christopher Walker (chris@timesrecordnews.com) Fire units responded to the call about 6:30 p.m. and saw smoke coming from the structure. WFFD assistant fire marshal Eddie Mawson said one person at the home suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment. The man was smoking a cigarette while carrying a can of gasoline through the house when he dropped the can and the cigarette sparked the fire. The America Red Cross was not called. The fire caused approximately $24,000 in damage to the home and contents.
