View Comments Gov. Doug Ducey hasn’t taken a stand on the sham election audit going on at the state fairgrounds, a sideshow that has made the state a laughingstock and erodes the confidence people have in an election system he once vehemently defended. A number of readers found such a suggestion laughable, coming from me. Or, as one reader put it, “With all due respect – which is no respect at all – why would Gov. Ducey listen to you, a two-bit newspaper columnist who has all the gravitas of a two-bit newspaper columnist?” Point taken. But while it is fair to suggest that I lack the moral authority to condemn the governor’s unwillingness to speak out on the sham audit, I’d be happy to defer to one of our nation’s greatest authorities on the importance of taking such a stand – Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
