However, scripture tells us that getting into heaven is not the result of works. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works so that no one can boast.” While God wants us to live a positive life where we do good by our neighbors, all the good we do in this life won’t get us into heaven.
